Midnight Chat — Child Safety Standards (Against CSAE)
Effective date: July 18, 2026 Contact: chattbot.ai@gmail.com
Midnight Chat has a zero-tolerance policy toward child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Midnight Chat is an adults-only (18+) application, and the protection of children is a non-negotiable priority that overrides every other feature and setting in the app.
This document sets out our published standards against CSAE, as required by Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy.
1. Prohibited content and conduct
The following are strictly prohibited anywhere in Midnight Chat — in AI chats, user-created characters, generated images, community submissions, or any other surface:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind.
- Sexualization, sexual depiction, or sexual roleplay involving minors, or any character presented, described, or implied to be a minor.
- Content that grooms, solicits, or facilitates the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child.
- Any attempt to make an AI character, image, or persona depict a minor in a sexual or suggestive context.
These prohibitions apply regardless of style (realistic, anime, illustrated, fictional, or otherwise) and cannot be enabled or unlocked by any setting.
2. Preventive measures
- Adults only. Midnight Chat requires users to confirm they are 18 or older at first launch and is intended solely for adults.
- Always-on safety filter. A child-safety content filter runs on all AI output and on all image generation. It is enabled at all times and **cannot be turned off by any user or setting**.
- Image generation is restricted. Image generation always blocks depictions of minors, and this protection cannot be disabled.
- Server-side enforcement. Content shared to the community gallery is re-scanned on our servers for child-safety violations, so a modified client cannot bypass the protection. Prohibited submissions are blocked and removed.
3. Detection, reporting, and moderation
- In-app reporting. Users can report any character or shared content directly in the app. Reports are reviewed, and content flagged for child safety is removed automatically and pending review.
- Automatic takedown. Community content reported for child-safety reasons is removed immediately, and creators who violate this policy can be blocked from sharing further content.
- Operator action. We remove violating content and take action against accounts and creators who violate these standards.
4. Reporting to authorities
We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law, and cooperate with law enforcement.
5. Legal compliance
We comply with applicable child-protection laws, including U.S. reporting obligations for CSAM (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and with Google Play's Child Safety Standards and Developer Program Policies. We have designated the contact above as the point of contact for child-safety matters.
